21 Things You Should Never Buy New
It's been a while that I have not post anything in here! Today, June 30th 2010.. we don't have class because it's holiday. While browsing in the internet I found this news and it catch my attention! Very interesting and I would like to share it to everyone although it is spread over the internet. Humm! do you think it is stealing?! Hehe!! Well, let me know if it is bad to copy and share news using blog. Anyways, yesterday I was just in the school for the whole day. I brought my laptop there and went to the library. As far as I know, my laptop can't really be able to catch the WiFi connection or else it can be but very slow. Fortunately, when I tried to connect it yesterday.. I said WOW! perfect!! The connection is good, better than my SmartBro connection at home. The connection is fast and I can do blog hopping and yes I did. I went through blog friends, drop EC and click adgitize. I like it!!
Here's the news....
1. DVDs and CDs: Used DVDs and CDs will play like new if they were well taken care of. Even if you wind up with a scratched disc and you don't want to bother with a return, there are ways to remove the scratches and make the DVD or CD playable again.
2. Books: You can buy used books at significant discounts from online sellers and brick-and-mortar used book stores. The condition of the books may vary, but they usually range from good to like-new. And of course, check out your local library for free reading material.
3. Video Games: Kids get tired of video games rather quickly. You can easily find used video games from online sellers at sites like Amazon and eBay a few months after the release date. Most video game store outlets will feature a used game shelf, as well. And if you're not the patient type, you can rent or borrow from a friend first to see if it's worth the purchase.
4. Special Occasion and Holiday Clothing: Sometimes you'll need to buy formal clothing for special occasions, such as weddings or prom. Most people will take good care of formal clothing but will only wear it once or twice. Their closet castouts are your savings: Thrift stores, yard sales, online sellers and even some dress shops offer fantastic buys on used formalwear.
5. Jewelry: Depreciation hits hard when you try to sell used jewelry, but as a buyer you can take advantage of the markdown to save a bundle. This is especially true for diamonds, which has ridiculously low resale value. Check out estate sales and reputable pawn shops to find great deals on unique pieces. Even if you decide to resell the jewelry later, the depreciation won't hurt as much.
6. Ikea Furniture: Why bother assembling your own when you can pick it up for free (or nearly free) on Craigslist and Freecycle? Summer is the best time to hunt for Ikea furniture--that's when college students are changing apartments and tossing out their goodies.
7. Games and Toys: How long do games and toys remain your child's favorite before they're left forgotten under the bed or in the closet? You can find used children's toys in great condition at moving sales or on Craigslist, or you can ask your neighbors, friends, and family to trade used toys. Just make sure to give them a good wash before letting junior play.
8. Maternity and Baby Clothes: Compared to everyday outfits that you can wear any time, maternity clothes don't get much wear outside the few months of pregnancy when they fit. The same goes for baby clothes that are quickly outgrown. You'll save a small fortune by purchasing gently used maternity clothes and baby clothes at yard sales and thrift stores. Like children's games and toys, friends and family may have baby or maternity clothing that they'll be happy to let you take off their hands.
[See 20 Things You Should Never Buy Used.]
9. Musical Instruments: Purchasing new musical instruments for a beginner musician is rarely a good idea. (Are you ready to pay $60 an hour for piano lessons?) For your little dear who wants to learn to play an instrument, you should see how long his or her interest lasts by acquiring a rented or used instrument to practice with first. Unless you're a professional musician or your junior prodigy is seriously committed to music, a brand new instrument may not be the best investment.
10. Pets: If you buy a puppy (or kitty) from a professional breeder or a pet store outlet, it can set you back anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. On top of this, you'll need to anticipate additional fees and vet bills, too. Instead, adopt a pre-owned pet from your local animal shelter and get a new family member, fees, and vaccines at a substantially lower cost.
11. Home Accent: Pieces Home decorating pieces and artwork are rarely handled on a day-to-day basis, so they're generally still in good condition even after being resold multiple times. If you like the worn-out look of some decor pieces, you can be sure you didn't pay extra for something that comes naturally with time. And don't forget, for most of us, discovering a true gem at a garage sale is 90% of the fun!
12. Craft Supplies: If you're into crafting, you probably have a variety of different supplies left over from prior projects. If you require some additional supplies for your upcoming project, then you can join a craft swap where you'll find other crafty people to trade supplies with. If you have leftovers, be sure to donate them to your local schools.
13. Houses: You're typically able to get better and more features for your dollar when you purchase an older home rather than building new. Older houses were often constructed on bigger corner lots, and you also get architectural variety in your neighborhood if the houses were built or remodeled in different eras.
14. Office Furniture: Good office furniture is built to withstand heavy use and handling. Really solid pieces will last a lifetime, long after they're resold the first or second time. A great used desk or file cabinet will work as well as (or better than) a new one, but for a fraction of the cost. With the recession shutting down so many businesses, you can easily find lots of great office furniture deals.
15. Cars: You've probably heard this before: Cars depreciate the second you drive them off of the dealership's lot. In buying a used car, you save money on both the initial cost and the insurance. It also helps to know a trusty mechanic who can check it over first. This way, you'll be aware of any potential problems before you make the purchase.
[See 20 Tips for Cleaning on the Cheap.]
16. Hand Tools: Simple tools with few moving parts, like hammers, hoes and wrenches, will keep for decades so long as they are well-made to begin with and are well-maintained. These are fairly easy to find at neighborhood yard or garage sales. If you don't need to use hand tools very often, an even better deal is to rent a set of tools or borrow them from a friend.
17. Sports Equipment: Most people buy sports equipment planning to use it until it drops, but this rarely happens. So when sports equipment ends up on the resale market, they tend to still be in excellent condition. Look into buying used sporting gear through Craigslist and at yard sales or sports equipment stores.
18. Consumer Electronics: I know most folks like shiny new toys, but refurbished electronic goods are a much sweeter deal. Consumer electronics are returned to the manufacturer for different reasons, but generally, they'll be inspected for damaged parts, fixed, tested, then resold at a lower price. Just make sure you get a good warranty along with your purchase.
19. Gardening Supplies: This is an easy way for you to save money, and all you need to do is be observant. Take a look outdoors and you'll likely find such gardening supplies as mulch, wood, and even stones for free or vastly reduced prices. Used garden equipment and tools are also common goods at yard sales.
20. Timeshares: Buying timeshares isn't for everyone, but if you decide that it suits your lifestyle, purchasing the property as a resale would be a better deal than buying it brand new: on average, you'll save 67 percent on the price for a comparable new timeshare. If you're new to timeshare ownership, give it a test run first by renting short term.
21. Recreational Items: It's fairly easy to find high ticket recreational items like campers, boats, and jet skis being resold. Oftentimes, they're barely used at all. As long as they're in safe, working condition, they'll make for a better value when purchased used than new.

It's Been A While
It's saturday morning, woke up early, thinking Nat still awake but unfortunately he's having his sweetdreams. So then, after a few days not being here, I went to blog hopping and visit friends and click ads, drop! I've been browsing different sites too and looking more advertisement. I am having fun, posting ads in my site and visiting too. I felt so grateful of all my visitors. Also, I am visiting them back, leave a message and clicking/dropping entry. Although I don't have more time in here, but if I get a chance I make it sure that I could do all the work as I can.
It was also, that I am having bad headache after school so thats why I go get early rest after dinner. Then, if I am going to be woke up early, I'll go catch my notes and books. We do have coming and surprising quizes so thats why need time to study and advance. It's kinda hard at this new curriculum. Unlike before, you need atleast to get half of items to get 75% but now, NO! In 20 items of the quiz you need to get 15 score which is equivalent to 75%. Well, I am having a great time in my studies right now. Just need more time to focus and at the same time study hard to pass. It's all about the hard works, sacrifice and persevere to have a better life in the near future.
Anyways, Thank you again.

Life as a Nursing Student and Blog
I am getting busy lately at school. I have to do more research and do all my assignments. A life as a IT is totally different in NURSING life. I wanna make sure this time, that I could be able to pass all my subjects and perform the activities properly and correct. If you are going to take care of a patients, you should have the confidence and a knowledge to save life. Oh, yes I am getting interested in all our topics. I am not fond of reading books in school, but this time have to teach myself to love it and get use to it. You know there will be more books and lots of books that a nurse should study and read. Yeah, I am getting four books for my chemistry and TFN. For me as IT graduate, it's only easy to research in the internet, but not all references found in the internet, so books is present. Nursing is so expensive. Study hard and persevere is all you can do to make it worth. And I would love to take care of people who are sick. I know that what I learn in my studies, will lead me to a better life and to my family.
That sad face, is refer to my blog. I cannot do more blog hopping unless I get a chance. I am so thankful that still more bloggers visiting my site. It is really appreciated!! I am going to visit you one day. Anyways, I have to go! Getting ready, I am going to school today for our orientation. God Bless everyone...

My Laptop got fixed
Friday, May 28, 2010
Our Princess
My Laptop broke
:((
I got my laptop broke 2 weeks ago.
Story............
Last May 17, 2o10, was horrrible!!! It was a shit!! I got my laptop broken screen. It was playing movie attached to a TV screen LCD in the living room. I put my laptop outside when I feel to share them watching movie because I had a bunch of movie save in the external hard drive. Being a good that time was turn into big damage. I never thought that I encountered this problem. The first time I got my computer, first thought in my mind was what If this got broken, could be able to fix it? How am I going to protect this computer specially in viruses. But I am so glad, my fiancee purchase an anti virus for me and installed it to my computer. It is saved now from malwares and virus. Well, back on that day stated above, I was washing dishes while a movie is playing. People are there watching, my sisters, my family. Then, my sister called "Ate, look what happened to your computer?". Damn!! Its broken. I was yelling everybody. So mad!! Crying at the same time. And guess what no one can tell who did it. Also, you cannot blame a lil kid since he is just a kid and dont know what his doing. My niece is there too. The external hard drive was on the top of my computer, on the keyboard. Someone did close my laptop and hit that thing but no one see the crime. I went to Cagayan De Oro City last May 22 to attend my bestfriend's wedding and at the same I'd thought of looking a place to get my laptop fix, because I know this place is a big city. Unfortunately, I went to Sony Service Center and they don't have but they said to send my laptop to Manila, their main branch. The girl said, they have in their and cost more than 20thousand. Wow!! I cannot deal with that. I've look prices in the internet for LCD but its like more than 5thousand, so it's a lot of money. I didn't grab that opportunity, I don't want to be far away from my laptop. It doesn't took longer to fix this problem but the only thing that hard to find is the LCD that would definitely fit to my laptop. This a SONY VAIO NS SERIES NOTEBOOK.
Now, my computer still working. I still using it. But I attach this to the TV screen LCD to see all my desktop. Please, anyone knows were I am going to get this fix. I think that it needs to change an LCD. I cannot find it here in Dipolog. This was purchase in the US. I've been looking at the internet too. Well, I am not sure maybe I could find somewhere else within Philippines. I just really hope I can get this fix. I need LCD that would be fit in my laptop. HELP ME FIGURE THIS!!

Trip to Cagayan De Oro City
It's my first time to go to Cagayan.
I heard it's a nice and big city and yes it is true.
I went there last May 21, 2010 with a company of my brother.
The wedding day was May 22, 2010 at 6:00am in the morning.
It is a mass wedding.
The trip was great though it was tired.
It is 8 hours of travel of a de luxe rural bus.
I don't like the aircon bus, it drives me crazy.
Well, its because I have this called "Motion Sickness".
I'm so glad that I'll be able to attend her wedding.
Humm, I went to SM, Gaisano Mall and Lim Keit Kai Shopping Mall.
Well, because I've been looking for a place to get fix my laptop and camera.
So, then until we be able to reach the Samsung Customer Care, which is the brand of my digital camera and got it fixed.
My Laptop is still broken, I don't know were place to get this fix.

My camera we're been broken 3 times, and last time it was fixed at Cagayan De Oro. So, now repair again and glad that I am in CDO that time.
Thank You My Love
Hi,
I am done!!, finally.. I just finished my Diploma in Information Technology at Systems Technology Institute last April 16, 2010.
I am so happy and glad that my fiance Nathan, was be able to attend . In this picture was our baccalaureate day at Catholic Church Cathedral last April 15, 2010.
For 2 years in STI-Dipolog, everything is worth at the end. Well, actually I spent 3 years already.
It felt so wonderful when you get done in studies, with all the hard work and also with all that you encountered being a student,it is not that easy at all. But the only thing you can do, is that you can make it, you can do it. You must have the confidence to face all the trials. Be strong and believe that in the end everything is gonna be worth. If you going to study, it is not a waste of time and money, but is gaining a lesson to learn.Don't think that you cannot learn anything. You may not know, at the end you will realize how such wonderful those past years of life as a student, all the good things. Everything is worth!!!
It is also a good thing to have an inspiration while studying. First thing, I told myself.. If they can make it, I can do it too. I don't lost hope although I suffered so much. I may not mention everything what I did, but I can say it was hard in my part. But still I did it. Second, my fiance, Nathan who really inspired me. A very supportive man and who always told me "Baby, I know you can do it." He encourage me all the time. And yet, I don't wanna waste all his effort too. "Baby, thank you very much with all the support, love and care. I am nothing without you." Also, to my parents.. for always here with me.. thank you for everything. And most specially to God, who given me stregth. I cannot reach this time without them. And so happy, this is one of my dreams in life.
YES, thank you Lord for always with me. I AM GRADUATE!!! :D

Internet Love
by Ashley
A young girl. 13 years old always wanted love in her life and never knew how to get it. Oh how she wanted to be loved and wanted to love. One day she went in a chat room not looking for a special relationship with someone, just felt like talking. She met a nice young man, told her he was 19 and he was nice to her and she liked him. They exchanged e-mails and kept in contact. Everytime the girl would talk to him and have fun, she only thought as him as a good friend but, one day he started telling her how he really felt about her.
By this time it had been three months they had been talking. She started realizing she had some feelings for him to but, she didn't want to think this was a sex offender or anything so she just told him what she really felt about him and why she wasn't opening up to him. He understood but, was sad. He said he never wanted to hurt her. After a while they stopped talking and she grew sad because she missed him. He said he was caught up with college and work and couldn't be on much. he came back on and she told him that she loved him, she just knew her feelings for him then.
They had a relationship over the internet for a while, they were so happy. Then he stopped talking to her again for a while. He came back on and told her he was gone cuz of school and work again. She understood and was just happy he was back. He said he had to go for a little bit but wanted her to talk to his roommate and become friends with him. So she agreed. They talked and as she talked to him, he seemed so much like her love, he talked the same way and made her feel good the same way. Then she started thinking maybe it was a joke and tat she was talking to her love the whole time and he was just being mean. She was confused. The boy started saying he really liked her and that he thought he loved her. She grew scared now. Her love came back on and started asking if she liked his roommate. She told him he was a very nice boy. He started asking if she would want to date them both, he and his roommate. She started thinking he didn't love her as he led on and didn't care if she was with another man. She told that to him and said she was sad. he told her he loved her so much but, wasn't sure if he was who she wanted.
After that they forgot about the whole thing until the girl got an offline message from the boy and it was saying he was going to take her away from her love because he loved her so much. She told her love and he got upset with his roommate. After that the boy was told he could only be a friend to the girl, he didn't like it but, he wanted to talk to her so he accepted the agreement. They all stopped talking because the boys computers got a virus and the girl never knew that. She grew lonely and thought her love would never talk to her again. So, she sent him a message saying she didn't want to be with him anymore.
The next week while she was on the computer the boy came on and told the girl that her love had been arrested for attempting to have sex with a minor. By this time the girl had already turned 14 years of age. She was so upset. She still loved him. The boy was nice and talked to her and made her feel better. She started realizing the boy wasn't such a bad guy. She grew to realize the man that she loved had lied to her. He never loved her and was just playing a mean joke. Now the boy says he loves the girl and she likes him a lot now but is afraid the same incident will happen again. The boy knows this and accepts it and will wait for her till she knows how she feels or even wants him. She found a better man.
After a couple years she met this boy in person. She never told him how she felt they just talked for a few years. She finally thought it was appropriate at the time they met that she told him she loved him. She did that and he was happy, he thought she never cared for him. But, he was wrong. Then they went out together for a year and they got married and had a baby girl. They were married for 5 years when the girl grew ill while she was pregnant with her second child. She gave birth to a baby boy and died a week after his birth. The baby boy was born sick and died the day after the mother.
This was a girl who was truely loved by her husband and got as she wished. This man was her miracle and she had now been loved and loved too.
The boy raised his daughter, she was raped at age 16 by the man her mother onced loved. The was sent to prison. The daughter gave birth to a baby boy and raised it. The father loved his wife so much that his daughter looked so much like her that he couldn't stand it anymore. He thought he would go crazy and think his daughter is his wife and do horrible things to her that wouldn't be horrible if it was his wife. He killed himself thinking he would be with his wife. But, he never found her. For he had been put in another place.
The Net Of Love
The boy returned home with his heart happily beating. He was tired, since he covered half of Budapest. He’s been anticipating this moment for more than 6 months when his savings will pay for his internet connection and the world will open before him. The often heard, almost slogan came into his mind: “The information superhighway will become the most heavily traveled road of the next century.”
What he felt was not quite happiness, but an emotion far more unique and noble played around his throat. He was proud to have broken out of the gray circle of dusty commonality. With the help of his computer he can even soar to places that have never before appeared on his mind’s horizon.
Ten p.m. The adventure is about to begin. He typed in his nick and passwords and in that instant it felt as though the sparks of his soul had just landed on the stage of night. He was ecstatic when he typed in the first address and the www page actually crackled onto his monitor. “This is fantastic. From now on I can be on the net as long as I want and never be bored. There are millions of pages waiting to be discovered!”
That is exactly how it was, at least for the first month or two. Then he felt that he needed something else. The holes he felt in his soul were not patched by the adventures. He was about to lay aside the magic net when he discovered something. Someone, from among those who were up to now, in the background shadows for our hero simply said: chat.
The fabric that had meant the world had once again became fully charged with excitement. It was true, he never experienced this before. He could talk with people ‘live’, who as himself, sat hunched over a plastic box filled with microchips and typed their questions and answers into tiny windows.
Time, once again, as a heartless thief had taken the fire from his eyes….that is, until suddenly a small blue square flashed. It was a girl who asked for help, and kindness over-flown from her words. It did not take much for the boy’s soul to comprehend perfect harmony. In this impersonal, yet in some ways far more personal world, two souls have touched.
The mirage of unlimited freedom had buckled his heart, into which an unexpected thought moved in: LOVE. He felt love toward someone he met only a few days before, and with whom he was able to exchange merely a few words, even those over a monitor.
Someone he’s never seen. The keyboard revealed virtually nothing, yet the girl, that sweet butterfly, gave away part of her unblemished soul with every stroke of a key to that other heart who, with increasingly concentrated purpose whispered between bit-per-second that word which for humanity became overused, schematic, yet at the same time still represents the paradise of dreams.
Why should we always organize through the cool etiquette of reality? Why does the power appear silly that combined beauty with beast, and the soul with the soulful? Could it be that two people, two such individuals who perhaps never would have met had they not been caught in the elements of modern life, could it be that they are in love with each other?
A mere few hours of in-depth conversation, but the human emotion does not recognize the lifeless combination of time and distance. Emotions refuse to allow themselves to be pressed into the mold of the everyday routine, they don’t give in to the flooding emptiness and forceful attack of lifelessness. Treatherous waters for sure, never knowing who and when will show their real face or when they will hide behind a pleasant mask. But the girl was herself. The boy felt, he knew that his net-shine can not be false, can’t be fake. They met every night spending all possible time together.
This feeling was not present elsewhere: the boy was surrounded by his internet friends, and there was the Girl but still, his soul was afraid. The echo of emptiness, the cold buzz of evil always woke him from his sweetest dreams, fragmenting peaceful moments. These two souls still found each other. Found each other in the fabric of a world-wide net and in such a fashion that would never have been possible in the real world.
